Chareen is a speech language pathologist with over three decades experience in healthcare and education. She majored in Speech Pathology and Audiology with a minor in Exceptional Children at West Virginia University. Her passion is her commitment to enhancing communication for individuals with complex communication needs and advocating for those who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Chareen is the mother of four adult children, one who uses AAC and has Down syndrome and Autism. She currently serves as a speech pathologist in Johnston County Schools and serves on the district’s Assistive Technology Lead Consultant. When not working, Chareen is an avid sports fan/mom (Go Packers), traveler and animal lover. She volunteers with Gigi’s Playhouse, an Achievement Center for people with Down syndrome. She lives in Clayton with her husband of 32 years with her 3 dogs.
