Wendy Lauffenburger is a distinguished Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Autism Specialist currently serving as the Team Lead and Lead Speech-Language Pathologist for Johnston County Public Schools. With extensive experience and a deep commitment to her field, Wendy oversees a dynamic team of speech-language pathologists, ensuring the delivery of exceptional services and fostering professional growth within her team.
Wendy earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Murray State University in 2010 and 2012, respectively. Her academic background has provided a strong foundation for her work in delivering evidence-based speech and language services.
In addition to her leadership role, Wendy plays an integral part in the Johnston County Public Schools Assistive Technology Resource Team and the Unique Mealtime Team. Her involvement in these specialized teams highlights her dedication to enhancing educational and mealtime experiences through innovative and supportive technology and strategies.
Wendy is a member of the North Carolina Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NCSHLA) and participates in ASHA SIG 16, focusing on school-based issues. Her commitment to the field is also evident through her participation in the ASHA Leader Development Program and her role as a peer reviewer for Speechpathology.com.
Her contributions have been recognized with multiple honors, including the ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) on three occasions, and her role as an ASHA Distinguished Early Career Professional (ECP) Award Reviewer. Wendy also serves as a Clinical Fellow (CF) Supervisor and SLP-Assistant Supervisor, demonstrating her dedication to mentorship and professional development.
